Frequently people choose porcelain laminates over bonding because laminates look more realistic, do not stain, feel more natural, and are stronger. Another reason is that bonding lasts 3-5 years, depending on wear and tear; meanwhile porcelain laminates lasts in excess of 10 years, when properly maintained.
Other advantages of cosmetic dentistry are confidence, strength, longevity of your teeth and the speed that is far more convenient over the usual methods. The main advantage of cosmetic dentistry is that the new materials and techniques make possible the conservation of the tooth structure, now only the damaged tooth structure may be removed. No need to grind the tooth down to a stub anymore. Cosmetic dentistry provides strong, long lasting materials and they are also more aesthetically pleasing while also avoiding the use of mercury, that can be found in traditional metal fillings.
