Does skipping rope really help?!?!?

i used to think that skipping burns a lot of calories but according to this article, 100 skips burns only 10 calories!!and i do 600 skips everyday..so that means that i only burn 60 cals everyday!!! that's so less, i mean when u skip, ur heat beat rises so much that sometimes u cant even breathe..but does it only burn 10 cals per 100 skips?!?!then why do people say that its a good exercise?

Well it's all about burning calories. It's to help you get in shape. Mostly for running and to keep your heart rate down when running.

It gets your heart pumping which helps. It gives strength to your legs and ankles because you are constantly jumping.

At my high school, all sports teams jump rope once a week for an hour. It really does help for like any sport! Plus it helps with balance and timing.
