Assuaging the Obesity

Gaining weight is necessary although adding unnecessary weight isn’t.

For understanding the obesity it’s necessary to have an idea about normal weight.

The normalcy in the weight doesn’t post much importance in ‘appearing in a certain way’. Rather the idea is all about the ‘feeling’. The feeling of ‘staying healthy’ would lead to an assured happiness.

Continuing with too much body weight is harmful in innumerable ways. However, to understanding the problem and a keen approach towards the problem is enough. Even late effort in the form of keen approach is enough to alleviate the problem.

Before alleviating the problem it’s necessary to have an idea about the problem.

Let’s us first look towards some of the prevalent misconceptions about the subject. Firstly, obesity and overweight aren’t the same. The difference lies in the matter of extent. Overweight means extra weight without specifically mentioning the amount. Though, obesity compulsorily brings a large amount of extra fat with it. This problem of a large amount of extra fat means a lot of danger for an obese.

For determining the risk factor the physicians use method known as Body Mass Index or the BMI. For determining the obesity the doctors first measure the height and the weight of the person. This number is later calculated to another number which finally offers the BMI.

While treating the doctor would first make one chart plotting the number, the BMI with the other records in the same age and gender group. If the comparison reveals a BMI above the 95th percentile it would be considered as one overweight. While the others with much lesser percentile of 85th to 95th would be regarded as risky for overweight.

Therefore it can be understood that the term obesity is used for ‘extreme weight’.

However, it should be remembered, as well that there are exceptions too to this formula. A wrestler would never be considered as obese. Since the weight that he gained is due to the muscles that he has and not extra fats.

In the last part we would discuss the problem of reason for this problem.

Primarily it’s related with the gaining and the burning of the calories. When the burnt off calorie is lesser than the gained the problem makes itself prominent. Theses ‘extra gained’ calories later stored as the ‘extra fat’.

It would be better to remind that the problem of obesity doesn’t happen in a few years of time. A long time of attaining extra fat could be the only reason
